Cox® Technic is employed by chiropractic physicians worldwide to manage low back and leg pain, as well as neck and arm pain and other spinal pain conditions such as synovial cysts, degenerated discs, herniated discs, stenosis, spondylolisthesis, and facet syndrome. According to the 2010 National Board of Chiropractic Examiners Report, 63.7% of US chiropractic physicians report utilizing flexion distraction techniques. Furthermore, about 3% of chiropractors in the United States have attained certification in Cox® Technic protocols.

Chiropractic physicians are certified in at least Lumbar Spine and may also hold additional certifications in Cervical Spine and Thoracic Spine. To be included in the referral directory, a physician must possess certification in the lumbar spine.
